Welcome to my Blog
End of the year update Posted on December 17th, 2015
Shortly after I graduated Ranken I applied for my secret clearance so I could start on contract with Aegis Strategies. A security clearance takes quite a while to come in, so in the mean time you get something called an interim. An interim is basically a temporary clearance that allows you to work on contract while you're waiting for your actual clearance to come through. Long story short, my interim was denied. The fun part of that is they don't tell you why...nor do they tell you anything at all. I was in sort of a crappy situation. Luckily at this point Aegis was winning contracts left and right. They liked me enough to hire me on internally as a Technical Support Engineer to help with back office tasks mixed with some research and development. We went from 15 employees to 60+ employees in just a few short months. We moved from a 1,200 square foot facility to a 2,400 square foot facility. It's great here. I've been involved in some awesome projects including building the companies new website. and I'm having a lot of fun so far! I’m also working on a lot of side projects; I’m now a Social Media Marketing Consultant for a car dealership called Luxury Sports and Imports; I’m working on a website consulting business with a few partners; Also, I've put 15,000 miles on my car already and I've enjoyed every second of it. Smiles per gallon!
Graduation Posted on May 4th, 2015
My last day at Ranken is 3 days away. I graduate in 5 days. I can't believe It's almost over. It really felt like the quickest 2 years of my life. Ranken stood behind their word and everyone in my class has an internship or a job. I got an internship at Aegis Strategies around the middle of this quarter. Within 5 days they had already offered me a full time position on their new government contract. I have to get a security clearance and everything. My position title is "Logistics Administrative Specialist". I start on the 12th of this month so wish me luck!

Life update Posted on September 25th, 2014
So over the summer I took 2 big vacations. One to Las Vegas, Nevada and one to Los Angeles, California. Great experiences. After I got back from those I got a job at a dentist office and institution called Chen Laser Institute. At the office they practice no shot no pain dental operations. Instead of getting a shot and drilling your cavity out, they use painless water lasers that vaporize cavities. It also kills bacteria. Very cool stuff. The institution part, like the office, is run by Dr. William H. Chen. He's an extremely qualified doctor that expands his knowledge to others through his laser institution. Hopefully one day all dentists can use lasers so no one has to be afraid of getting shots or their teeth drilled any more. So now I'm back at school, this semester we're learning C#. I'm understanding it very well but it is getting really difficult. Two chapters a week is killing me. Hopefully I can pull it together and end this semester with a great grade and take a lot from it. Next semester we're learning Java and ASP.NET. That will be interesting... Have a good day everybody! Thanks for reading.

During my vacation in Las Vegas I decided my site needed a blog so I could share the things I’m fortunate enough to experience. This page is still under construction but will evolve over time. Thanks for your interest! Have a great day.
